Make Up For Ever. Expensive!
I always got intrigued about their foundations after a demo I got. I already love their Mat Velvet + foundation. That foundation will stay flawless on your face, doesn't matter what you have been up to.
My next trial was the well known Make Up For Ever HD foundation. My first impression you already got here.
Today is the day for the final review. Want to join me in my trial?
If you have ever seen a MUFE foundation before, you know they are all coming in a very sleek black cardboard packaging with white letters. On top of the packaging you have your shade number...
... and the ingredients are to be found on the box as well. Very simple, but even though its not that fancy to me it does feels and looks luxurious.
The bottle itself is plastic but it has something special to it because the can of foundation is inside the plastic rounding.
The foundation is provided with a pump: CHECK!
I do need around 2 and 2,5 pumps.
I have heard several times this foundation supposed to give a full coverage (with few product), yet still feel very lightweight. About the lightweight feel I agree with in an instant. But I do believe I need more than my regular 1 to 1,5 pump with foundation. I therefore am drawn to saying you will run out of it quicker.
After working the product into my skin (I am wearing shade N120, name: Soft Sand) I, as said, feel the really lightweight product.
Coverage is decent, but I still expected a tad more.
Also I have heard multiple times multiple different things about for what skin type this is or isn't good. Avoid when having oily skin was the most common. I, of course, didn't mind.
I do indeed can say: You will get oily without a doubt if you have oily skin yourself if you don't powder your skin of. Yet if you give your face a good powder (without making it look cakey) the foundation lasts me around a good 5 to 6 hours.
Normally I wouldn't like that short time but since it still is HD foundation, (ment for TV or quick shootings where you have to look darn good but only for short times) I can really appreciate this foundation a lot!
And yes it looks good on photographs! On the picture above you have a bot a un-blended foundation on top and blended foundation on the bottom. I like my hand with foundation, what do you think?
Overall thought: Yes and no. For every day, daily wear I wouldn't suggest using this, because for me I feel I use to much for that daily wear (it is 37 euros in Sephora). Yet for quick darn good looking foundation, yes! The foundation indeed looks very good for HD cameras. It lasts indeed, photography worthy but (on oily skin) full days you need a good powder for your skin!
Tell me, have you ever given Make Up For Ever a go? Would you like to?
