MUA: Lipstick

Trying new lipstick is something that I totally love doing. Try as many shades as possible and after a day of shopping your hand is full of swatches (who else knows this).

Most of the times I'm fairly right in what suits me and what not. But I like to switch things up and go bold and have a pop of colour on the lips.

Today I'm bringing you that pop of colour through a review of lipsticks.

Pop of colour, right or wrong?

The lipsticks I am showing you today are two by MUA from their normal range. I got myself shade 1 and shade 4. (Unfortunately they didn't get any names.)
The lipsticks look nice but nothing special you think. On the bottom of the lipstick the shade you have it also showing through. That comes in handy if you store your lipsticks upside down.

But it doesn't just show through, you can actually take the bottom off and then you get lipstick in a pot.
That comes in really handy if you are doing someone else's make up.

The lipsticks themselves are extremely creamy and super smooth feeling on your lips. I don't feel they are drying at all.

Because the lipsticks aren't matt they don't last me that long, without eating I would say they last around 3 to 4 hours.

The first shade I
got was shade 1. It is a dark vampy, bloody red colour. And just screams my name! I love these type of shade and I wear them throughout the whole year.

The colour applies very pigmented and can be build up very easily.

The next colour is shade 4. When I saw the bottom in the drugstore I was thinking that this would be a nice light pink.
Trying this, this is only a very sheer wash of colour on your lips.

It can be build up but not as much as the dark shade. I do love to wear it though. Since it isn't as pigmented it is a perfect daily coloured lipstick. And even though it is that light, it doesn't wash out your lips compared to your look that day.

On the picture below you can totally see the difference.

The left colour is two layers of shade one and right are several layers of shade 4. And it still isn't as out there as shade 1.

Overall thought: I have fallen in love with shade 1. This is totally my type of colour: dark and dare-y. I also do like shade 4 but its nowhere near as pigmented as shade 1. Maybe the other shades are pigmented too. The don't surivive food but they survive drinks. I recommend re-applying after 3 or 4 hours, I'd say.

Tell me, have you ever tried these or the matt versions?
