Catrice: Absolute Matt Palette

A full drugstore matt palette is very hard to find. Sleek has a very good one. Its the Ultra Mattes V2 Darks palette which I am very pleased about.
However its a tad harder to get my hands on Sleek and a few weeks ago Catrice came with the amazing news that they would release a new add to their 'absolute' palettes. A full matt palette.

My first impression was fine. Yet not to woaw. My final thought? That you can read here.

New In: Catrice, Absolute Matt

Since the new Catrice changes I totally overspent. With the third display arriving it got even worse. But I really wanted to get certain products.
Also this palette in particular. It got really popular in a short time so it was quit the hassle to finally get it.
Today I wanted to quickly show you the palette. A full review well be up in a short time. Now, lets have a look.

Make Up For Ever: HD Foundation

Make Up For Ever. Expensive!

I always got intrigued about their foundations after a demo I got. I already love their Mat Velvet + foundation. That foundation will stay flawless on your face, doesn't matter what you have been up to.

My next trial was the well known Make Up For Ever HD foundation. My first impression you already got here.
Today is the day for the final review. Want to join me in my trial?

Catrice: Nude Illusion Foundation

Yesterdays post was about a cover product and today I am going down the same road again. And same brand as well.

Catrice and her new foundation. I first didn't want to buy this one and go for the Velvet Finish Foundation with hyaluron but some new products aren't to be found. Also this one.

I was in my local drugstore and my obsession came across again and I just purchased it.
The Nude Illusion make up by Catrice. Thoughts?

Catrice: Velvet Matt Eyeshadow

When the new Catrice change came I had made up my wishlist almost instantly. Normally I go for the usual things I want to get, some lipstick or the new face products. And I always skip Catrices eyeshadow.

This time though I want the new Absolute Matt Palette (who has seen this sucker yet?) and a new range of single shadows got my attention too.

And I obviously purchased them. Today I decided to give you my thoughts on them. They are called the Velvet Matt eyeshadows.
Seems interesting? Keep reading.

There are six different eyeshadows in the velvet matt range. They variate from a light vanilla white shade to daily greys, greens, browns and a lovely burgundy shade. (I didn't pick up the baby pink shade and the green one, because I knew I wouldn't wear them.)

The packaging of the shadows is typical Catrice. But being so cheap its a fine package.

Coming to the actual testing. I instantly liked these shadows.
They feel so smooth and light. Plus they have an intense pigmentation going on. And all four colours that I own have that awesome pigmentation.
The first colour I am going to show you is Vanillaty Fair. This is shade one, a beautiful white, vanilla shade as the name suggest.
The colour is really easy to blend. And perfect to use a basecolour for the rest of the look you are creating.

The next colour is Jump Up and Brown. Again a very nice brown colour. With a somehow golden brown glow to it.
For me this a really good transition shade and once again very blendable. Also I feel you can perfectly wear this shade on its own.

Al Burgundy is my third colour. Beautiful Burgundy. -This is going to be a boring upload, since I keep repeating myself.-
Perfect for creating a purple/dark plum smokey eye. In my opinion this is the most pigmented shade of the range of shadows.

The last shade is called Welcome to Greysland. Which also makes it the last shade I have.
Daily look approved, nicely pigmented and easy to blend once again. I think you know the drill by now.

On the picture below you can see swatches of the colours I have.
I already excuse for the bad swatches made.
You can still see the nice pigmentation of all the shades. After all the testing I am sure I really am fond of these single shadows. Smooth, velvet, satin feel and a darn good pigmentation. The only very big downside of these shadows: They break way to easily and fast.
I have loads of eyeshadows and not a single one in all those years broke, these I own for a good week and one had to sadly be repaired.

Overall thought: I'm very pleased with almost everything about the new Catrice shadows. The shadows are nicely pigmented and they can be blend easily. There is close to no fall out. And all shades can of course be worn alone. Downside: Breaks way to quickly!

Tell me, what do you feel about these shadows from Catrice?

L'oreal: True Match Foundation

Finding the right match for foundation. You girls will probably know this issue too. Especially if you have a very pale skin it is even harder.

Well, I personally cheat to match myself (selftanning) to the lightest shades in drugstores.
For summer though I always like to go a bit darker, because in summer I use selftanners that go darker to. Just to look very nicely tanned but don't worry I don't get orange :)

That aside L'oreal has a foundation range where you supposed to find your true match.
Well do they? Let's find out!

Make Up For Ever: Mat Velvet +

I have been in a total foundation mood these days. I have purchased myself 4 foundations over the past 2 weeks. I always though kept in mind that I don't wear that much foundation in summer because I tend to go for BB creams more often.

Of course it didn't hold me back and today I therefore have a foundation review for you all. And it is a special one. My very first high end product review.

High end or failure? That's what we are going to find out now.

MUA: Matt Foundation

Since a few weeks I've been on the search for a new foundation. Not that I need it, but you all know that need to have new things. Well these days I have been in my foundation mood.

Since MUA has finally taken place in my local drugstore (I was the first one to touch the new display) I had to try their foundation(s). They have a matt one and a regular one.
I went for the matt one because my skin is more oily.

Do I like it though? You can find out my thoughts if you continue reading.

Essence: Mattifying cream, Take 2

I have an oily and sensitive skin. I therefore want to use as little products as possible. I thought, as many do, that I was 'overproducing' oil. And I took it away.

But ever since my teacher once told that the thing with oily skin is that all the oil on your skin should actually be in your skin. That changed.

My biggest tip now: Moisterize, moisterize and moisterize. I have found myself an everlasting favourite. Budget and beautiful!

How do I take care of my skin? Continue reading.

Summerproof: Blush

In summer I try to lessen down the amount of make up I use so my skin can breathe. And also because the weather is warmer I'm not putting as much on because otherwise it would just slide of my face. -No sight-

Something that I will never leave is definitely a blush. That add is absolutely gorgeous and can add a perfect glow.

Today I wanted to run you trough some of my favourite summerproof blushes.
Are you interested in what they are, then keep reading!

Prime & Fine: Translucent Loose Powder

I used to hate translucent powders, don't ask me why. Lately I love them, don't ask me why.
In my make up education we use the Make Up For Ever loose HD powder. Let me tell you, we have been spoiled with that powder. This looks good and just is awesome.

You have a really good matt effect. And when not used for flash photography it is a wonderful daily powder.
Because MUFE is a bit to expensive for me at the moment I'm trying to find other budget loose powders.

My eye fell on the Catrice Translucent loos powder.
My thoughts? Continue reading.

Prime & Fine Waterproof

Waterproof. If that word is on a packaging I most likely have to have it. Rainy Europe most of the times causes people to look like panda's and that is the one thing I try to avoid.

With a new change of assortment Catrice came up with a powder that supposed to be waterproof.
Powders from Catrice are really good. Super silky and does keep your foundations matt and in place. Having quit a search for the powder I eventually good a non-touched one and I put it directly to the test.

Waterproof? Keep reading.

Primers

Every girl has to start of with a clean/primed face before applying foundation. It's just to make sure that everything is kept in place through the day and to hold it to it's maximum.

I remember using my very first primer. Well, I never really liked it. It just didn't work for me. I first thought it was just me that had a problem with it but a friend of mine has it too and she as well doesn't like it that much.

With some new changes in Belgian drugstores, some new primers came along. Of course I had to try them. To find other and better then my old primer. So I went shopping and I got myself all the new primers that where brought out.

Do you want to know if these primers do their job? Then you have to keep reading.

Nail Care & Topcoats

A few weeks ago I polished my nail Nightmare Before Christmas/Jack Skellington themed. And I absolutely loved it. I even got complements about it. So I decided to write a post about nails mainly because I realised that I do have quite a few products for my nails and searched for some reviews myself.

So this post will be on as the tittle says, the care and topcoats for nails.
It's on an entirely different subject then as I normally write about but I still hope you like it.

Stay Matte

I have been noticing that lately there are a lot of brands that are introducing a few products for oily skin. Matt powders, foundations, etc.

As I am a combo of extremely dry and extremely oily, it's really hard to find that perfect foundation to fit my weird combo skin type.

I'm testing all kinds of different stuff and maybe one day I'll find that one product that I'll stick with for a long time.
